Preheat oven to 350°. Grease the bottom and sides of a regular or fluted tube pan and set aside. In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, CINNAMON, NUTMEG, CLOVES and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually stir in the flour mixture, alternating with the applesauce, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Add the VANILLA and mix briefly. Fold in the walnuts, raisins and cherries. Pour the batter into the pan, smoothing the top with a spatula to make it level. Bake at 350° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes and then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
For the glaze: Combine the powdered sugar and juice or milk in a small bowl. Stir until smooth and of the desired drizzling consistency. Spoon over the cooled cake.
