Most punches are very sweet and not too refreshing. This one is tart with just a touch of sweetness from the crystallized ginger and the ginger ale. On a hot summer day this drink will hit the spot. Serving it in a punch bowl is nice but not everyone has one anymore. So if you can't borrow one from someone, mix it in a large pitcher.

  • 2 TB. Crystallized ginger, chopped up a bit to make it finer
  • 1 12 oz. can frozen limeade
  • 1 6 oz. can frozen lemonade
  • 4 Cups water
  • 1 liter ginger ale
  • Ice ring to fit in your punch bowl (we made ours with a very small gelatin mold)
  • Sliced lemons, limes, and oranges for garnish, if desired

Mix together the chopped crystallized ginger, limeade, lemonade and water until dissolved. Pour in the ginger ale, add the ice ring, garnish, and serve. There won't be room in a pitcher for an ice ring or even ice cubes. Fill your glass with ice and pour the punch over.
