Penzeys Spices Recall Information

If you’ve purchased a half-cup, 2.2-ounce jar of Brady Street Cheese Sprinkle since the start of July of this year, could you check the code on the jar found just below the lid printed on the glass? Typically this code is towards the front side of the jar.

We are recalling Batch/Lot # 37652-1 and 37652-2 with a BEST BY JULY 2024. No other lots are affected.

When filling these jars, a small sample of our Garden Salad Seasoning was mixed with our Brady Street Cheese Sprinkle. Our Garden Salad does contain Sesame Seeds. While we have received no reports of illnesses, since January 1st of this year the FDA has added Sesame Seeds to their list of major food allergens saying, “While most allergic reactions cause mild symptoms, some are severe and may even be life-threatening.”

As much as you and those in your household may not have an allergy to Sesame Seeds, you really never know where a jar in your house can end up in the future. With these being mislabeled, as long as they are in circulation they are a risk.

If you have a jar of Brady Street with this specific Batch/Lot #, please return it to one of our Penzeys retail locations or contact us at customerservice@penzeys.com or at 1-800-741-7787. Our Call Center is available (CST):

Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM
Sunday: 11:00 AM-4:00 PM

We will provide you with a full refund or a replacement.

And we really would like you to get these back to us (at our cost) so we can be sure they are out of circulation. But from our previous experience with our two other recalls, I know some of you are just going to toss these out. If you do, could you dump the seasoning out of the jars before tossing? Otherwise it’s still going to look like a perfectly good jar of seasoning. We really don’t want someone grabbing and using it while it’s mislabeled.

Sorry.

Thanks,

Bill
