Three-Berry Pie A beautiful pie from a beautiful heart. This pie recipe is from Laurel Ferris. 6 Cups fresh or frozen mixed berries (raspberry, blueberry, blackberry) 1/2 Cup sugar 6 TB. all-purpose flour 1/4 tsp. GROUND NUTMEG 1/4 tsp. CINNAMON (Laurel uses CEYLON) 1 TB. freshly grated lemon zest 1 TB. freshly squeezed lemon juice 2 TB. butter (Laurel uses unsalted), cut into small pieces 1 egg, lightly beaten 2 TB. heavy cream 2-3 TB. coarse sugar or VANILLA SUGAR for sprinkling 3 Cups all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt (cut to 1/4 tsp. if using salted butter) 2 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. CINNAMON, optional (Laurel uses CEYLON) 3/4 Cup cold butter (Laurel uses unsalted), cut into small pieces 1/4 Cup shortening 3/4 Cup ice water (may not use it all)
