We are hiring for a Carpenter in our Woodshop.  Our woodshop department handcrafts all the items displayed in our 50 stores around the country. That includes: wood crates, display racks, price boards, tables, counters, etc.

The job involves working independently as well as working with others within the department.  A willingness to learn, help out where needed and accept new tasks are key. We are looking for someone who  is safety conscious, has good attention to detail, an understanding of basic math, knows how to use a tape measure, and is comfortable working on repetitive tasks. 

Day to day tasks include:

- Promoting  a culture of safety.

-Operating Woodworking Machinery such as Table saws, planers, joiners, sanders, drill press, and hand-held drills, nail guns

-Projects may include building Store Displays, Assisting development of new ideas, and mass producing wood crates and gift boxes.

-Ability to work accurately ,safely, and independently with limited verbal instructions from the shop supervisor.

-Verifying quality of product.

-Loading and unloading trucks.

-Other duties/projects as needed.

Requirements: 

-3 + years past woodworking experience related to general woodworking, cabinet shop, or other wood fabrication environment.

- Knowledge of woodworking machinery such as table saws, drill presses, industrial disc sanders, planers, jointers, etc.

-Knowledge in mold making, building with plastics and/or metal working a plus! All tools will be provided by Penzeys.

-Experience with foam carving and shaping, design, and finish carpentry including trim work, milling and shaping.
